Those interested in participating in any of our programs will need to register for TWO classes:
MARCHING BAND - Semester Course
Marching Band is a Fall Semester course that all members of the Instrumental Music Program participate in. We hold after school rehearsals, and perform at rallies, football games, Saturday competitions, parades, and other campus-related activities.
All Marching Band students will earn a semester of PE credit each semester they complete. Participation at all after school rehearsals, competitions, football games, and school rallies is required and a part of the student's class grade. There is a financial obligation for each student with participating in Marching Band, and we will have several fundraising opportunities to lower costs.
Students have the option of participating in 2nd semester Winter Drumline, Winter Guard, or Winter Winds and will earn a second semester of PE credit if they do.
CONCERT BAND - Yearlong Course
Beginning & intermediate woodwind & brass musicians who would like to further their skills on their instrument in a concert ensemble setting should enroll in this class. Experience not required, although strongly preferred. Participation in Marching Band is also required for participation in this class. Performances at all concerts are required. Student receives A-G graduation/college Fine Arts credit. School instruments are available for student use on a first-come, first-serve basis, so students are encouraged to look into renting an instrument. Contact the director for more information and renting resources.
STRING ORCHESTRA - Yearlong Course
Beginning & intermediate string orchestra musicians who would like to further their skills on their instrument in a concert ensemble setting should enroll in this class. Experience not required, although strongly preferred. Participation in Marching Band is strongly suggested in addition (students will receive PE credit for adding marching band, allowing for an extra elective/choice class). Performances at all concerts are required. Student receives A-G graduation/college Fine Arts credit. A limited amount of school instruments are available for student use on a first-come, first-serve basis, so students are encouraged to look into renting an instrument. Contact the director for more information and renting resources.
SYMPHONIC BAND - Yearlong Course
For advanced woodwind & brass musicians who are continuing to develop their concert ensemble skills. An audition or teacher approval is required to enroll in this class. Participation in Marching Band is also required for participation in this class. Participation at all Festivals and at all concerts are required. Student receives A-G graduation/college Fine Arts credit.
